THE PROCESS
In late spring our beautiful lambs are born on lush green pastures on the farm. They spend the next year along-side their mother, growing large on the sweet nutrients of organic grasses. When lambs reach the proper weight, those not kept or sold as breeding animals are harvested by the local butcher so their meat may nourish local families in our community. The hides are saved, salted, and tanned in our farm tannery. We hold true to our beliefs of living as cleanly as possible. The process we use is both safe and gentle. The labour and time dedicated to each hide is extensive but well worth it. Unlike mass produced rugs, these hides maintain their unique character and earthy feel. Sheep truly are a gift that just keeps giving. Our seasonal bounty is made available twice a year in the spring and fall.
