Frequently Asked Questions

FARM FOOD

What is the Eagle store address?

We had a store in Eagle open to the public but due to the increase in traffic being at a residence we decided to close the doors. We now offer pre-scheduled pickup of your meat in Eagle, or areas in the valley.

Do you ship meat?

We are very small and committed to supporting our local community and the traditional farm. For that reason we offer our larger meat shares for delivery and pickup within areas of Idaho. Individual lamb cuts and ground beef are available for pickup in Eagle and Weiser.

How do I buy meat from you if you don’t ship?

We sell meat by what is referred to as farm shares. Farm shares allow us to butcher the animal here on the farm where they grew up. It also aligns with our belief system of whole eating. When you place a deposit on an animal either a whole, half, or quarter, you are actually purchasing that animal live, and paying us to finish it. Instead of packages of meat, your purchase is the entire (or 1/2, 1/4) of the animal. That is why you purchase it before slaughter.

What does it cost?

Our animals are harvested right on the land that nourished them. The meat is then processed by our local small butcher and sold directly to the consumer following state regulations. This means you purchase a share of the animal and are charged by the hanging weight (meat, bone, muscle) in exchange for us raising your animal. We pay the butcher on your behalf for the harvest, cutting, and packaging of your animal or portion of animal.

Your final bill will include the exact hanging weight of your animal plus butcher fees for beef. The more you purchase the greater the value per pound. For lambs we charge a flat rate since their sizes are relatively the same. On average you can expect to spend the following amount to fill your freezers: ($5.00 to $8.00) per pound for beef, ($13.75 to $15) per pound for lamb.

Why is this meat so good?

Because these animals are living the life they were created for in an environment that is free from stress. Being this small means that we have the ability to nurture the entire system. Every time you purchase a product from the farm you are the reason we can continue that beautiful balance required to sustain the land.

Can I visit the farm?

We believe it is important for everyone to see how their food is raised. But we have found it difficult to stop work for folks here and there. We hope to have a few farm days in the year so everyone can experience first hand what this land has to offer.. We will notify through our newsletter and social media.
